blog of a professional gardener, about his work, tools, gardens visited and thoughts?/advice
Well this has been kicking around in my head for a while, there’s some brilliant groups out there in the world of horticulture, from alpines to cacti but there’s none bringing together like minded gardeners (both professional and keen amateurs) who just love pruning and want to talk to others about it, share ideas and maybe ask about changing old ways of thinking.
Hi Thomas love pruning and craft of manipulating plants. How far you can go. Went to west dean loved the apple goblets and rose cushions. Would love to create these for clients. Actually I want to!

Hi Miranda, it’s a beautiful place isn’t, I went there for the first time last year, pruning is out of the world there isn’t, hoping if this all takes off to have a small meeting there 🙂

Great idea. Most clients assume that pruning and topiary are some kind of dark art.

I’d definitely be interested in joining in with this sort of discussion, as I’m about to start training a trio of air-pot grown, dwarfing apple trees at home. I’m also a volunteer gardener at Ordsall Hall in Salford, whose head gardener says it’s time for the small orchard to have a bit of a re-think re: pruning and tree management, so it’s a hot topic for me at the moment.
(On the technical side, I’d suggest a full WordPress install, maybe running the BuddyPress add-on for forum functionality. The only costs should be domain name registration at £10-£20ish for 2 years and then monthly hosting fees to rent the server space etc.)
